I live in an apartment. I have fire extinguishers, an escape plan, and a smoke detector, but my biggest concern in a SHTF scenario is fire. When SHTF, I can cover windows, bolt the doors, and harden my location as much as I want, but in the end it’s still wood. Has anyone out there thought of any measures that I can take to ameliorate this problem without violating my lease? _________________ Antisignatarianist |

There should already be at least a 1hr firewall between your apt. and any portion of any other apt. There's not much you can do that would'nt violate your lease since they would all require alterations to the structure. If you live (or sleep ) on an upper floor, get one of those window rescue ladders. Also, install add'nl smoke detectors to make sure you get plenty of warning. _________________ "If this ain't a mess, it'l do 'till one shows up" |
