what is everyone's view on survival clothing? do you wear camo or try to blend in with the rest of the population and try to stay below the radar?
personaly in a urban environment i would think of blending in do the general thought at least around here than the camo wear people are some sort of nut. Don't get me wrong but camo need a proper place is all.
PS i do like to wear my camo:) |

I love my camo too. I have woodland, Multicam, Marine Digital woodland, 3 color desert, and the crappy ACU.
But, camoflauge means to blend in. To blend in with ones environment.
I prefer to be a wolf in sheeps clothing.

I know what you mean, you don.t really want to draw attention to yoursel, but your clothing should help you complete your task. I wouls store some sturdy cargo pants of a common color and a multi pocket shirt or vest. Sturdy shoes or boots are a must, but I wouldn't waste money on mil. or SWAT type boots. Get some durable work boots or shoes . _________________ "If this ain't a mess, it'l do 'till one shows up" |

Camo might not be a good idea in some situations. Try to use earth tone clothing. This doesn't appear to military and yet acts as better concealment than most civilian clothing. _________________ RJ |

i wear military pants on a regular basis, since the old canadian camo pattern is flat green, it melts prety well in urban zone...
but if you REALLY don't want to drag attention on yourself, you want to look like a useless thug... so melt with the bums... partly shredded pants, construction boots, black sweater, and a dirty leather coat. now you pass unknown...
but if the idea is to be as effective as possible, no matter what your task is, you want comfort and durability, so +1 on the cargo pants, or the one piece mechanics suit would work prety well too!!!
and by the time i'm around, let me add this:
you positively want to avoid any jeans material, it might be a strong clothing, but it dosen't keep you warm enough, takes hours to dry, too rigid to be comfortable and you can't put a wallet or a pack of cigarrette in in those streched pockets, it will be irritating your skin by the end of the day... those were my 2 cents!! _________________ you'll never feel more alive than on the edge of death |

Depends on the neighborhood, of course. If you dress like a bum downtown, you're invisible because folks actively avoid seeing you. Dress like that in the 'burbs, and you'll have much more attention from the po-pos than you'd really care to think about. A more blue-collar (Jeans or Dickies, work shirt, boots) look will get you by in most any area during daylight hours. _________________ "If it ain't the Devil's music, you ain't doin' it right" - Chris Thomas King
